We’re happy to share that Olamana is now registered with Stichting UPV Textiel.

For us, making more conscious choices isn’t only about how a garment is made. It’s also about what happens when it has reached the end of its life.

By being part of the textile recycling system, we help support:
♻️ more opportunities to recycle used clothing
🔬 research into new ways of recycling textiles
📍 recycling points across the Netherlands where you can hand in your unwanted textiles

Because a piece of clothing shouldn’t automatically become waste just because you’re finished wearing it.

We’re still learning, improving and looking for better ways to do things.

Small steps. Better choices. A future worth wearing. 🌱

We spent a lot of time in the workshop discussing materials and trying to figure out what could work for our kitesurfing hoodie.

Traditional neoprene, made from petroleum.
Recycled neoprene.
Neoprene made using shellfish-based materials.
Yulex and other plant-based alternatives.

Each option has its own advantages, challenges and environmental impact. There isn’t always one simple answer.

And then comes the big question when you’re trying to turn a more sustainable idea into a real product:

How much does sustainability matter when it comes to what you’re willing to pay?

So we’d genuinely like to know:

If you could buy a hoodie made with significantly more sustainable materials, how much extra would you personally be willing to pay for it?
